“We invited a number of parties, but Freek really managed to win us over”
Jan Voets, Managing Director of Polarpack
Challenge
Polarpack was looking for a packaging machine that suited their production practices: easy to operate, easy to clean, capable of delivering sufficient output, and flexible enough to meet new customer requirements. At the same time, they wanted a supplier who wouldn’t treat them as just a number, but who would genuinely work with them to find solutions.
Solution
VH impressed with its knowledge, experience and practical approach. Polarpack not only received a suitable machine, but above all a flexible partner that thinks in terms of solutions.
Sometimes a partnership begins in a very practical way. “You have a need, so you start Googling,” explains Jan from Polarpack. That’s how they eventually ended up with VH.
After the initial discussions, it soon became clear that it wasn’t just about the machine. “We invited a number of suppliers, but Freek really managed to win us over.” It wasn’t just down to the sales pitch or the value for money. Above all, it was his knowledge and experience that made the difference. “You can just tell he knows what he’s talking about.”
Not just a number, but a partner
Polarpack uses the Centurion packaging machine to package its products. Although Polarpack isn’t the largest buyer of machinery, it never felt that way to VH. “We might not be buying six complete production lines, but you do get the feeling that you’re just as important.”
It is precisely that personal touch that makes all the difference, in their view. Short lines of communication, quick responses and simply being able to ring someone when something comes up. “We can always turn to them with problems or questions. No matter how silly the question might be.”
Machines that think along with you
At Polarpack, the requirements for a machine are clear: easy to operate, simple to clean and capable of delivering sufficient output. But flexibility is just as important.
“That became clear when a new client asked if we could also produce 20-centimetre bags,” says Jan. “Where others might first start calculating or drawing up plans, Freek immediately came up with a practical solution.” “Just send the product to me, and I’ll test it.” It’s precisely that approach we value at Polarpack: thinking along with us, adapting quickly and focusing straight away on solutions.
If he had to describe VH in one word, several words spring to mind straight away: “Flexible, helpful, enthusiastic and passionate. It’s not just one, but that’s exactly what it is,” laughs Jan. Words that say something not only about the machines, but above all about the people behind them.
